Keep the reviewer, comment number, review cycle and cited requirement together. Preserve earlier responses so repeated comments can be traced.
Gold Standard Builder Services organizes the comment record, identifies who needs to act and coordinates the revised package. Each response should connect the reviewer’s request to a specific explanation, drawing or document.
We distinguish required corrections, questions needing clarification and information or conditions that apply later. The wording and status of the actual review record guide that decision.

Identify whether the next action belongs to the designer, contractor, owner or permit team. Track the missing document or decision explicitly.
Reference the revised sheet and detail or the relevant supporting document. Check that the response narrative describes the version being submitted.
The example below is fictional. It demonstrates response structure, not a GSBS client result or a confirmed code requirement. A project response must be checked against its actual drawings and reviewer notice.
“Show how the proposed paving drains without affecting the adjoining property.” The action is to document the drainage approach, not simply state that the plans comply.
Ask the responsible designer to confirm the site plan, grading information and any relevant section or detail. Confirm that the proposed design addresses the actual condition before drafting the final response.
After the designer has verified and completed the revisions: “See revised sheet [number], detail [reference], for the proposed drainage direction and edge treatment.” Explain any remaining question separately; do not claim approval.
We check whether the permit is still in review or has already been issued, because the accepted route can differ. For example, Orlando directs applicants making changes after issuance to request that the digital portal be reopened.
Check the city’s published process for that specific situation: City of Orlando: Get a Permit. Source checked October 9, 2026.
Gold Standard Builder Services is the permitting service team. permitOS is our software for organizing project information, documents and follow-up. A software record is not a filed application; submissions follow the jurisdiction’s process. Design professionals retain responsibility for their designs, and the permitting authority makes review and approval decisions.
Yes. Send the full comment record, permit number and latest submitted documents. We first confirm the current review cycle and applicant access, then agree what GSBS will manage and what your design team must supply.
Where clarification is warranted, we can help organize a specific question and the supporting drawing, code reference or official requirement. The responsible design professional should confirm technical positions. A disagreement is not resolved until the reviewer or authority addresses it.
We coordinate with the responsible design professional for revisions, calculations and any required signature or seal. Permit management does not replace licensed design work or the designer’s responsibility for the documents.
Identify each comment by discipline and number, explain the response and point to the revised sheet, detail or supporting document. Any item still unresolved should have a clear owner and next action rather than a generic statement that everything is corrected.
It depends on the actual notice. Some review statuses mean corrections are needed; other decisions may involve a substantive restriction or a separate appeal process. We read the notice and confirm its meaning before treating it as a routine resubmittal.
No. We aim for a coordinated response that addresses the actual comments and supports the project team. The jurisdiction decides whether a response resolves its comments, and additional review may identify further items.
